Savor these delightful rice balls, a perfect blend of flavor and texture. Customize with your favorite fillings for a fun and satisfying snack or meal.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 1 ¼ cups water
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Fillings (cooked vegetables or tofu, chicken optional)
  • Nori sheets (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine with water in a pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat to low, cover tightly, and simmer for about 20 minutes until all water is absorbed and rice is tender.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Mix in rice vinegar and salt gently.
  4. Wet hands to prevent sticking. Take ¼ cup of cooled rice, flatten it, and add filling in the center.
  5. Fold edges over the filling and roll into a smooth ball shape.
  6. Optionally wrap each ball in nori strips for added flavor.

Notes

  •  Experiment with different fillings such as cheeses or spices to suit your taste.
  • Allow rice to cool before shaping for easier handling and better texture.
