  • Yield: Approximately six servings per recipe

Ingredients

  • Classic Sweet BBQ Sauce: 1 cup ketchup, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp smoked paprika, Salt and pepper to taste
  • Spicy Chipotle BBQ Sauce: 1 cup ketchup, 2-3 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (to taste), 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, Juice of 1 lime, 1 tsp cumin powder, Salt and pepper to taste
  • Tangy Mustard BBQ Sauce: 1/2 cup yellow mustard, 1/4 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup brown sugar (adjust for sweetness), 1 tsp paprika, Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional), Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Classic Sweet BBQ Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients. Stir until well mixed and bring to a gentle simmer. Simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
  2. Spicy Chipotle BBQ Sauce: In a blender, combine ketchup and chipotle peppers; blend until smooth. Pour into a saucepan and add remaining ingredients. Heat on medium, stirring frequently, until bubbling (5-7 minutes).
  3. Tangy Mustard BBQ Sauce: Whisk together mustard and ketchup in a bowl. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Place in a small saucepan over medium-low heat for about 10 minutes until thickened.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness or spice levels based on personal preference.
  •  Try using honey instead of brown sugar for a different flavor profile.
  • Allow sauces to rest before serving for enhanced flavors.
