- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- ¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 8 oz linguine or spaghetti
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients on the counter to make cooking seamless.
- Cook pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant but not browned.
- Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in lemon juice and red pepper flakes, mixing well.
- Combine cooked pasta with the shrimp mixture in the skillet. If needed, add reserved pasta water to create a silky sauce.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of white wine (if permissible) while cooking the shrimp.
- You can substitute linguine with any pasta shape of your choice.
- Serve with crusty bread for dipping into the delicious sauce.
