Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup tapioca pearls
- 1 cup milk or non-dairy milk (almond or oat)
- 2 cups water (for brewing tea)
- 2 bags black or green tea
- 2 tablespoons sugar or sweetener (honey/agave syrup optional)
- 2 tablespoons flavoring syrup (mango or strawberry, optional)
Instructions
- Boil water in a pot. Add tapioca pearls and cook until they float and become translucent (about 5-10 minutes). Drain and rinse with cold water.
- In another pot, boil water and steep tea bags for 5-7 minutes to achieve a robust flavor.
- While the tea is warm, stir in sugar until dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.
- In a glass, mix the brewed tea with milk and any flavoring syrup you choose; stir well.
- Add cooked tapioca pearls to each glass, pour the tea mixture over them, and add ice cubes if desired.
Notes
- Use fresh ingredients for vibrant flavor; stale tapioca can ruin the experience.
- Brew strong tea for a bold taste—weak tea may dilute the flavor.
- Experiment with different toppings like fruit jellies for added excitement.
