Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb boneless ribeye or sirloin steak
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Rice or lettuce leaves for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and black pepper until well combined.
- Slice the beef thinly against the grain into strips about 1/4 inch thick for tenderness.
- Add the beef to the marinade and coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for best flavor).
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook marinated beef in batches for about 5-7 minutes until browned and caramelized.
- Sprinkle chopped green onions over the beef during the last minute of cooking.
- Serve with rice or wrap in lettuce leaves, adding toppings like sesame seeds or pickled vegetables if desired.
Notes
- For added nutrition and flavor, consider including bell peppers or mushrooms in your dish.
- If you prefer a vegetarian option, substitute tofu for the beef.
