Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup cottage cheese (low-fat or full-fat)
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup milk (or almond milk)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup fresh fruit (berries or bananas)
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (optional)
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients: cottage cheese, sweetener, milk, vanilla extract, fresh fruit, and optional cocoa powder.
- In a blender, combine cottage cheese and sweetener. Add milk and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
- For added flavor, incorporate fresh fruit or cocoa powder and blend again until well mixed.
- Transfer the mixture to an airtight container and freeze for at least two hours.
- Before serving, let the ice cream sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes for easier scooping.
Notes
- Use full-fat cottage cheese for a creamier texture; low-fat may yield a grainier consistency.
- Experiment with different fruits and nut butters to create unique flavors.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to two weeks.
