Ingredients
Scale
- 4 tilapia fillets (about 1 lb)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tsp black pepper (freshly cracked)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Clear your workspace and gather all ingredients.
- Place tilapia fillets on a plate. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and half of the lemon juice. Let marinate while heating the skillet.
- Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes. Add a splash of olive oil.
- Once hot, add the seasoned tilapia fillets. Sear for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- After flipping, drizzle remaining lemon juice over the fish to enhance flavor.
- Cook until fish flakes easily with a fork. Transfer to plates or a serving platter, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve.
Notes
- Substitute tilapia with other white fish like cod or haddock for variety.
- Enhance flavors with fresh herbs such as dill or thyme.
- For added color and taste, consider sprinkling paprika on top before serving.
