- 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries (diced)
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- On a floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry and cut it into four 4-inch squares.
- In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Gently fold in diced strawberries.
- Spoon about one tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each pastry square. Fold corners toward the center.
- Whisk the egg with a splash of water and brush over each assembled danish.
- Bake on parchment-lined baking sheets for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to substitute strawberries with blueberries or raspberries for variety.
- Add a sprinkle of lemon zest for an extra citrus flavor.
