- 8 taco shells (hard or soft)
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup chopped fresh lettuce (romaine or iceberg)
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp hot sauce (optional)
- ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- Lime wedges (for serving, optional)
Instructions
- Gather and pre-chop all ingredients for quick assembly.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, season with onion powder and garlic powder, cooking until browned.
- Smash the cooking beef with a spatula to create thin patties, cooking until crispy edges form.
- Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top of the patties and cover briefly to melt.
- Place patties into taco shells and top with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream or Greek yogurt, and desired toppings.
