Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece ginger, sliced thinly
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
- Rice or noodles (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients by slicing the beef and chopping the broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger slices, and cornstarch mixture to create the marinade.
- Toss the sliced beef in half of the marinade and let it sit for about 10 minutes while you heat your pan.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add broccoli and sauté until bright green but crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
- Push broccoli to one side of the pan and add marinated beef strips to the other side. Cook until browned, around 3-5 minutes.
- Pour the remaining marinade over everything and stir until thickened, approximately 1-2 minutes.
Notes
- For added crunch, toss in cashews or bell peppers.
- Substitute beef with chicken or tofu for different protein options.
- Ensure not to overcrowd the pan to avoid steaming.
