Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl, then mix in granulated and brown sugars until well combined.
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- If desired, fold in chocolate chips for added richness.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs attached.
- Allow cooling for about 10 minutes before cutting into bite-sized squares.
Notes
- For extra texture, consider adding nuts or other mix-ins like butterscotch chips.
- To enhance sweetness, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top before baking.
