Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup walnuts, whole and lightly toasted
- 1/2 cup pure honey
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 egg whites
- 3/4 cup cornstarch
- Vegetable oil for frying (as needed)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, whisk egg whites until frothy. Gradually add cornstarch and blend until smooth.
- Coat each shrimp in the batter evenly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from oil and toss immediately with toasted walnuts.
- In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, honey, and sweetened condensed milk; drizzle over shrimp and walnuts.
- Serve garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider swapping walnuts with pecans or adding diced bell peppers for extra crunch.
- Ensure oil is hot enough before frying to achieve maximum crispiness.
