Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- In a separate large bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Gently fold in the peanut butter to create swirls, then stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spaced about two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden; centers should remain soft.
- Cool on wire racks before serving.
Notes
- For added texture, consider using crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking if you prefer thicker cookies.
