Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined, then mix in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the bars cool, prepare the frosting by beating together softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
- Once cooled completely, frost the bars with cream cheese frosting and slice into squares.
Notes
- For added texture, consider mixing in some chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
- If you prefer a different flavor profile for the frosting, try using flavored cream cheese like strawberry or vanilla.
