Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- Juice of 2 limes (about 4 tablespoons)
- 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, and chili flakes (if using) to create the marinade.
- Add the sliced sirloin to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a touch of oil. Cook the marinated beef for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- While the beef is cooking, chop the cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and red onion into bite-sized pieces.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef with chopped veggies and cilantro. Drizzle with any remaining marinade and toss gently to combine. Serve immediately on chilled plates.
Notes
- Use fresh herbs like mint alongside cilantro for added flavor.
- For a vegetarian version, substitute beef with grilled chicken or tofu. Adding fruits like mango can provide a delightful twist.
