- 3 medium ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 medium red onion, finely chopped

- Juice of 2 limes

- 1 small jalapeño, finely diced (optional)
Instructions
- Wash and chop the tomatoes into small cubes. Place them in a mixing bowl.
- Finely dice the red onion and add it to the bowl along with the chopped cilantro.
- Squeeze fresh lime juice over the mixture according to your taste.
- Sprinkle in salt and mix everything gently with a spatula.
- If desired, fold in the finely diced jalapeño for added heat.
- Let sit for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
- For milder flavors, soak chopped onions in cold water for 10 minutes before adding them.
- Customizations can include swapping jalapeños for bell peppers or adding diced mango for sweetness.
