Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix pitted cherries with half the sugar and vanilla extract; set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, remaining sugar, and optional cinnamon. Stir in melted butter and milk until just combined.
- Pour cherries into a greased baking dish and dollop batter over the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
