- 1 can (5 oz) canned tuna, drained
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 slices whole grain or sourdough bread
- 1 tbsp mustard (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix drained tuna with mayonnaise until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
- Fold in shredded cheese and optional mustard.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Spread the tuna mixture generously on the unbuttered side of half the slices.
- Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat; grill sandwiches for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Slice diagonally and serve warm with your favorite sides.
