Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk (or almond milk)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix blueberries with 1/4 cup of sugar and let sit for about 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, remaining sugar (1/4 cup), and salt. Stir in melted butter, milk, and vanilla until just combined.
- Pour the blueberry mixture into the baking dish and spoon dollops of batter over the top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a crunchier topping, consider adding oats to the flour mixture.
- Feel free to substitute blueberries with other fruits like peaches or raspberries for a different flavor twist.
