Ingredients
Scale
- 200g kunafa noodles
- 100g unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup whole milk
- 50g granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream, whipped
- 50g chopped pistachios (or nuts of choice)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Shred the kunafa noodles into small pieces and mix with melted butter until evenly coated.
- Spread the buttered kunafa on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until sugar dissolves (about 5 minutes).
- Let the milk mixture cool slightly, then fold in whipped heavy cream until smooth.
- Form small cups with baked kunafa noodles and fill them generously with the cream mixture.
- Top each puff with chopped pistachios before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, try infusing your cream filling with citrus zest or flavored syrups.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days; reheat in the oven for crispness.
