- 4 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and thinly sliced

- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
- Beat in the egg until just combined; press about two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the prepared dish.
- Toss sliced apples with lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon; layer evenly over the crust.
- Crumble remaining dough over the apple filling.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before slicing.

- For added texture, consider mixing in walnuts or pecans with the apple filling.
