Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz linguine
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tbsp)
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- 1. Cook the Linguine: Boil salted water in a large pot over high heat. Add linguine and cook until al dente according to package instructions (8-10 minutes). Reserve ½ cup of cooking water before draining.
- 2. Sauté Garlic and Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter with olive oil. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Toss in shrimp and cook until pink (about 2-3 minutes).
- 3. Flavor It Up: Stir in red pepper flakes and lemon juice, mixing well.
- 4. Combine Everything: Add the drained pasta directly into the skillet with the shrimp mixture. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed for creaminess.
- 5. Finish with Herbs: Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley. Serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- For added flavor, use fresh herbs like basil or dill.
- Swap shrimp for scallops or your choice of fish for variety.
- Incorporate vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes for extra nutrition.
