Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well; then add vanilla.
- Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients with milk until just mixed.
- Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely.
- For the custard: whisk milk, cornstarch, sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla over medium heat until thickened.
- For the ganache: heat cream until steaming; pour over chocolate chips and stir until melted.
- Assemble the pie by layering cake, custard, and ganache.
