Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve sugar in warm milk. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it froth for about 5 minutes.
- Gradually mix in flour until incorporated. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl covered with a damp cloth until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Prepare the filling by combining softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Spread the filling evenly and roll tightly into a log shape.
- Slice the log into approximately 12 equal pieces using dental floss or a sharp knife.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, pour heavy cream over them, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- For icing, whisk powdered sugar with vanilla extract and remaining heavy cream until smooth; drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider mixing nuts into the filling or using brown sugar instead of granulated sugar.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days; reheat in the microwave for freshness.
