Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in peanut butter and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; then gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips evenly into the dough.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spaced two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are firm but centers remain soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes will yield thicker cookies.
- Use high-quality ingredients for maximum flavor impact; natural peanut butter is recommended.
- Feel free to customize with mix-ins like nuts or different types of chocolate chips.
