Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the ground beef until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Stir in onions, garlic, and ginger until fragrant.
- Add soy sauce, salt, and pepper; mix well and simmer for another 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into squares or circles.
- Spoon filling onto one half of each pastry piece, fold over, and seal edges with fingers or a fork.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Assemble pies and freeze before baking for future snacks.
- Swap ground beef with chicken or tofu; add sesame oil for extra flavor.
