  • 1 box vanilla cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to package instructions using eggs and milk; then pour into the prepared dish.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool slightly.
  4. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the cake, aiming for about 20 holes.
  5. Prepare the instant vanilla pudding according to package directions and pour it evenly over the poked cake.
  6. In a saucepan, melt semi-sweet chocolate chips with heavy whipping cream over low heat until smooth, stirring continuously.
  7. Spread whipped heavy cream mixed with powdered sugar over the chilled cake after it has been in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
