Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Stir in the brown sugar and granulated sugar until well combined.
- Mix in the eggs one at a time along with the vanilla extract until glossy and thick.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- If desired, fold in chocolate chips or nuts into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider mixing in dried fruit or coconut flakes.
- Ensure not to overmix once you add the flour to keep your blondies tender.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days.
