- 9 oz cheese-filled tortellini (fresh or frozen)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients. Chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent (about 3-4 minutes). Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned (5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes to meld flavors.
- Meanwhile, cook tortellini according to package instructions (usually 3-5 minutes). Drain well.
- Fold cooked tortellini into the meat sauce mixture until coated and heated through. Serve topped with grated Parmesan.
Notes
- For added nutrition, incorporate fresh spinach or zucchini while sautéing the onions.
