Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece ginger, grated
- 4 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (canola or peanut)
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Prep Ingredients: Chop broccoli into bite-sized pieces and slice beef against the grain.
- Marinate Beef: In a bowl, mix beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat Wok: Preheat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- Sauté Aromatics: Add vegetable oil, then sauté garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Cook Beef: Add marinated beef to the pan without overcrowding. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned on both sides.
- Stir-Fry Broccoli: Add chopped broccoli and red pepper flakes if using. Stir-fry for another 3-5 minutes until vibrant green.
- Create Sauce: Drizzle additional soy sauce while stirring continuously until the sauce thickens slightly (about 1-2 minutes).
Notes
- For added crunch, quickly blanch broccoli before stir-frying.
- Customize by swapping broccoli for snap peas or bell peppers.
- Use tamari or coconut aminos as gluten-free alternatives to soy sauce.
