Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 medium Granny Smith apples (peeled and chopped)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, granulated sugar, and yeast; let sit until foamy.
- Whisk together flour and salt in another bowl. Gradually mix into the yeast mixture until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and slightly tacky.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 1 hour).
- Meanwhile, toss chopped apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla to create the filling.
- Roll out risen dough into a rectangle, spread melted butter over it, then evenly distribute the apple mixture.
- Roll into a log shape, slice into 12 pieces, and place cut-side up in a greased baking dish.
- Cover again and let rise for another 30–45 minutes until fluffy.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
- For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and milk; drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to experiment by adding nuts or caramel sauce for extra flavor.
- For creaminess, consider using a cream cheese glaze instead of icing.
